The formula to calculate the square footage depends on the shape of the area. For a rectangle or a square, you simply need to multiply the length and the width. For a circle, you need to multiply pi by the radius squared. If you don't have the radius, you can obtain it by dividing the diameter by two. A 10x10 room is 100 square feet. Multiply length by width to get the total square footage.
How do I calculate square footage for an irregular shape?
Break the space into smaller rectangles, calculate the square footage of each section separately, then add all the totals together.
How many square feet is an average house?
The average North American home is approximately 2,000 square feet. A typical bedroom is 120 to 150 square feet and a standard one-car garage is around 200 square feet.
How do I convert square feet to square meters?
Multiply the square footage by 0.093 to convert to square meters. For example 1,000 square feet equals approximately 93 square meters.
How much does it cost per square foot to renovate?
Renovation costs vary widely by project type. A basic renovation runs approximately 50 to 100 dollars per square foot while a high-end renovation can reach 200 dollars or more per square foot.
